Obituary for Sharon Sue Jones
Sharon Sue Jones,68, of Harrisburg, Illinois, passed away on January 6, 2018. She was born in Eldorado on October 20, 1949 the daughter of Herbert Gordon and Violet Pennell. She was married to Steve Jones and he survives. She was a member of the Rocky Branch Social Brethren Church, a member of the Order Eastern Star of Ridgway lodge 714, as well as a long time Officer in the American Legion Auxiliary post 167.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Jones, also of Harrisburg. 3 sons Eddie Penrod and wife Stacia of Eldorado, Chris Penrod and wife Lynn of Harrisburg, and Steve Jones and fiance’ Abby Wilson of Romeoville. 2 sisters Dianne Kruel and husband Preston of Cummings, GA., Faye Smith of Harrisburg. 6 grandchildren Amanda Varble, Amy Olson, Zack McGuire, Kaylee McGuire, Jada Penrod, and Jacob Penrod. 2 great grandchildren Addison Varble and Austin Varble. 4 neices and nephews, Susan Ricketson of Harrisburg, Gordon Smith of Harrisburg, Jimmy Evans of CT., and Lisa Sweat of Cummings, GA. Mother in law Hazel White of Harrisburg, and father in law James L. Jones of Golconda.
She was preceded in death by her parents. 2 brothers Gene Robinson, Fred Robinson, and brother in law Floyd Smith. 1 sister Evelyn McGill.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Alexander officiating and burial in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
