Obituary for Jerry Dale Smith
Jerry Dale Smith, age 59, of Elizabethtown, Illinois passed away Friday, May 5, 2023 at the V.A. Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.
Jerry was born on May 18, 1963 at William Beaumont General Hospital in Fort Bliss, Texas by Barbara F. (Jones) and Gerald Smith. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1980 to 1983 at Fort Lewis, Washington. He married Mindy Smith and she survives.
Surviving are his wife, Mindy Smith; sister, Pam Wagner; half-sister, Bobbie Smith Wilson Hull; brothers, John D. Smith and James D. Smith; son, Richard Harbour of Kentucky; step daughter, Kendra Hodge of Harrisburg, Illinois; step son, Payton Hodge of Harrisburg, Illinois; four grandchildren Traeyton Harbour of Kentucky, Aissa Stanley, Aleah Hines and Asaish Hines of Harrisburg, Illinois; uncles, Dale Palmer and Darrell Palmer; aunt, Brenda Culver and dear friend John Katava.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and first wife, Delores J. Smith who passed in 2001.
Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois with Pastor Brenda Culver officiating. All those wishing to attend should meet out at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Arrangements in care of the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Illinois.
