Obituary for Bonnie Ragan
Bonnie Ragan, age 90, of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 in Harrisburg, Illinois. She was born on June 15, 1931 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Leo and Cecelia Koch Shetler. Bonnie married Gene Ragan and he preceded her in death. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Harrisburg, Illinois, American Legion Post 167 Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, HMC Auxiliary, Saline County Museum, AFSCME Retirees, Saline County Republican Women Central Committee, an avid Bulldog sports fan especially for her grandchildren and a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan.
Surviving are her daughter, Beth Williams of Harrisburg, Illinois. Daughter In-Law, Kathy Ragan of Harrisburg, Illinois. Seven grandchildren, Josh Ragan, Nolan and wife Megan Ragan, Bill and wife Emily Ragan, Zach and wife Megan Ragan, Luke and wife Jo L. Ragan, Hayley and husband Aaron Marks, and Christian Williams. Fifteen great grandchildren, Drake and wife Callie, Lexi, Hunter, Andrea, Ryley, Alexander, Christopher, Brandon, Oliver, Noah, Penelope, Ryker, Elliot, Emmy and Avery. Many nieces, nephews and her dearest friends to the end, Pat Parkinson and Linda Sherrer.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents. Husband, Gene Ragan. Sons, Steve Ragan and Danny Ragan. Brother, Bill Shetler. Sister, Noveda Wentzel and granddaughter, Kristie Sirtak.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Harrisburg, Illinois with Father Christian Iwuagwu officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, Illinois.
