Obituary for Edna E Parker
Edna E. Parker 79 of Muddy passed away 6:30PM Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Shawnee Rose Care Center in Harrisburg. Edna was born July 8, 1936 in Muddy, daughter of William Jackson and Verla Hanks. She married John Parker November 5, 1954 and he survives. Edna was a dedicated community volunteer for the past 40 years at both the Golden Circle Senior Center and the Harrisburg Medical Center Ladies Auxillary where she worked in the gift shop. She was very proud of her many friends and acquaintanences as a result of her volunterr work during those years. Earlier in her life, she was employed at Rays Drugs, Kresges and Fosters for mom Foster in Muddy.
She is survived by her husband John, 3 sons Frederick & Betty Jean Parker of Greenwood, IN, Charles Parker of Evansville, IN and Michael & Jackie Parker of Marion, IL and 1 daughter Sue Harrod of Buckingham, IL. 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Pleas Love and William J. Hanks, Jr.
Funeral services for Edna Parker will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home with Rev. G. E. Coultas officiating and burial to follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
