Obituary for Harrell G. Ewell
Harrell G. Ewell 88 of Harrisburg passed away Monday at Harrisburg Medical Center. He was born in Harrisburg October 18, 1929 to Clarence C. and Ada Parks Ewell. He was married to the former Clarice Boulden and she preceded him in death. Harrell was a Veteran of the National Guard and the U. S. Navy, a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg, Harrisburg Lodge #325 AF & AM, Valley of Southern Illinois Consistory, Ainad Temple Shriners, Local 318 Operating Engineers for 40 years, Sword of Bunker Hill, Egyptian Shrine Club, Egyptian Motor Patrol, UMWA for 18 years, past president and long time member of Harrisburg Hunters Club, Lifetime member of the NRA and a founding member of the Whittington NRA. Harrell was a graduate of Harrisburg High School.
Surviving are 2 sons, Glen Ewell and Van Ewell both of Harrisburg and 2 grandchildren, Austin Harrell Ewell and Katie Ewell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Clarise, 1 brother Carl Ewell and 1 sister Zella Mae Tellas Jordan.
Graveside services will precede burial 1:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Reed officiating. There will be no visitation and those attending should go directly to the cemetery. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.
