Wilma (Harp) Ricketts, age 79, of Harrisburg, Illinois, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, peacefully at her home with family by her side.
Wilma was born January 19, 1945, in Calvin, Oklahoma. She was born to the late James William and Ola May (Littrel) Luna. Wilma was the youngest of ten children and the last surviving child. In addition, she is proceeded by her late husbands, Charles Ray Harp and Donald Ricketts.
Her career consisted primarily in customer service throughout the years. Wilma lived a life with Protestant Faith. She was a fearless Mother who loved her children and took most pride in her grandchildren. Her network of friends throughout the years brought her much happiness. She enjoyed adventures with past travels, she loved cooking for family and friends, and her phone conversations were never ending. Her heart of gold and selflessness were experienced by everyone’s life she touched.
Wilma leaves behind her children, Lana Rea Joyner, Kenny (Heather) Rea, Jennifer (Gary) Patrick, stepson’s Millard and Gary Harp. Her grandchildren Maranda Boyd, Richard Rea, Cassie Rea and Braxton Joyner; three great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a ‘special thank you’ to all the friends who have provided transportation, meals, kindness, calls and assistance the past few years. Thank you to Hospice of Southern Illinois and her special nurse Sue Ann for the home care.
As per her request, a graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Cottage Grove Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. All those wishing to attend should meet out at the cemetery. Arrangements in care of the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Illinois.
