Obituary for Susan Horning
Susan Horning, age 72 passed away at the Harrisburg Medical Center on Monday, July 31, 2023. At the time of her passing, Susan had been a resident of Saline Care Center for several years. Susan was born November 15, 1950 to Carl and Lorene (Patton) Shewmaker, both of whom are deceased.
Susan graduated from H.T.H.S. with the class of 1968. She was a member of the band and was first chair clarinet. Susan was also valedictorian of the 1968 class. She graduated with high honors from S.S.U. with a BS degree in Home Economics Education and taught Home Ec. for several years in Indiana. Susan was a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are her special friends Fuzz and Robin Stricklin.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents.
A graveside service for Susan will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois with Rev. Ron Reed officiating. All that may wish to attend services should meet at Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements in care of the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Illinois.
