Obituary for Shirley Rae Guard
Shirley Guard, age 88, of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Villas of Hollybrook in Harrisburg, Illinois. She was born on October 17, 1935 in West Frankfort, Illinois to Ray and Marie Wade Crain. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, Illinois. Shirley Married Jim Guard and he preceded her in death on February 5, 2017.
Surviving are her two sons, Mark and wife Jan Guard of Paducah, Kentucky and Jeff and wife Joyce Guard of Harrisburg, Illinois. Five grandchildren, Erin Ulrich, Mitchel Guard, Adam Guard, Jason Brannock and Erin Owens. Twelve great grandchildren, Joseph Ulrich, Dominic Ulrich, Vincent Ulrich, Emma Guard, Logan Guard, Matthew Guard, Chloe Guard, Ally Brannock, Avery Brannock, Adele Brannock, Colbie Owens and Rhett Owens.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents and Husband, Jim Guard. Sister, Betty Mae Hutchinson.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, Illinois with Pastor Lynette Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church. Arrangements in care of the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Illinois.
