Obituary for Ronald Kay Talley
Ronald Kay Talley 82 of Harrisburg passed away Wednesday, September27, 2017 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Kay was born November 25, 1934 in Carterville the son Raymond “Tang” and Opal Volner Talley. He was married to the former Patricia Stinnett and she survives. Kay was a Deacon at Harrisburg First Baptist Church where he was a member.

Kay started his career at Allen Industries and went to Saline Valley Savings & Loan. He was President of Harrisburg National Bank where he oversaw the renovation of the bank building. He became Regional President of Citizens Bank prior to retirement in 1998. He was the Treasurer for the Harrisburg Community Unit School District #3. Kay was a board member of Illinois Bankers Association, a member of Saline County Industrial Commission, Saline County Chamber of Commerce, Southeastern Illinois College Board of Trustees, Chairman of Board of Directors of the Harrisburg Medical Center Foundation. He was a member of the Jolly Boys International, Harrisburg Lions Club, Past President of Harrisburg Rotary Club and Deacon Emeritus of First Baptist Church. He was Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year.

He is survived by his wife Pat, 1 son Dr. Keith & Paula Talley of Carmi and 1 daughter Mary Ann & Rusty Borders of Harrisburg. 1 sister, Suzanne & Randy Mitchell of Carterville, 5 grandchildren; Tim and Jayna Borders, Joey & Stephani Borders, Sarah & Josh Noelle, Caitlin & Jake Keepes, Lincoln Talley and 8 great grandchildren; Layla Borders, Kennedy Borders, Will Borders, Graham Borders, Claire Bea Borders, Ryan Noelle, Sloane Noelle and Oliver Keepes. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Harrisburg First Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Winkleman officiating and burial in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg after 10:00 AM Saturday. The J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.
