Mary Lois Dabney 92 of Harrisburg passed away 9:15 AM Friday, June 24, 2016 at Shawnee
Rose Care Center. She was born February 4, 1924 in Harrisburg, the daughter of Frank and Sallie Tavender Conover. She married Earl Dabney July 23, 1953 at the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death May 21, 1998. Mary Lois worked as a secretary for O. L. Turner, first at WSIL TV including the theatres and later WEBQ radio. She was a Harrisburg High School graduate of 1942, a member of the Business and Professional Women, Home Extension, Order of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg.
Surviving Mary Lois is a sister, Sarah Suver of Harrisburg and 3 nieces, Sallie Booth of North Carolina, Debra Suver and Mary Rene Suver both of Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Conoer and sister, Madeline Little.
Services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Christine Cunningham officiating and burial to follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral is in charge of arrangements.
