Obituary for Lynn O Turner
Lynn O Turner, beloved son of Benny and OL Turner and adored brother of Guy Lee Turner and Belle Turner Choate, left this world on May 18, 2016. He joined his Mother, Father, Brother, Brother In Law Sargent Visher, Belle’s Husband, and his grandparents-Ida Belle and Guy McCormack & Ethel and Oscar Lee Turner.
Lynn O was born July 25, 1955 and worked at Starlite Drive Inn, Orpheum and Grand Theaters until he was sixteen. He then joined the “Big Boys” club and worked at WSIL-TV until it was sold and then at WEBQ Radio. Most of his working life was at the side of and with loving guidance from his Father, OL. They both prospered in their long standing, working relationship.
All of Lynn’s roots are in Harrisburg, and he loved his hometown. He tried never to miss any sporting event-even when Harrisburg was losing-and found his spiritual home at the First Baptist Church.
He will always remain in the hearts of the people who loved him-of which there are many. Lynn ) was a very special and unique human being from the moment he entered this world and until the time he left it. He will most surely be missed by all.
Graveside services will precede burial, Sunset Lawn Cemetery at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 21, 2016. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.
