Obituary for Leon Stilley
Leon Stilley, age 77, of Equality, Illinois passed away on Friday April 26, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones at his residence. He was born on June 12, 1941 in the Eagle Creek Community of Saline County, Illinois to Henry and Frances Stilley. He was married to Wanda Modglin of Equality, Illinois. Leon worked for the Saline County Fish and Wildlife Conservation area of Glenn O. Jones Lake for 31 years, was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and the Equality Masonic Lodge #2 AF & AM.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda of Equality, Illinois. Son, Terry and wife Janet Stilley of Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Daughter, Karen Wargel of Equality, Illinois. Sisters, Lola Choate of Eldorado, Illinois, and LaVerne Mitchell of Raleigh, Illinois. 7 grandchildren, Rachel Dempster, Jonathan Stilley, Jeremy Redd, Matthew Redd, Hannah Redd, Jordan Wargel, and Marcus Wargel. 5 great grandchildren, Samantha Redd, Kendal Redd, Hunter Redd, Jaxx Redd and Kailee Alldredge and faithful companion, Pixie.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Sister, Loretta Frohock. Niece, Linda Young. Nephews, David and Greg Frohock. Father and Mother in Law, Kenneth and Nina Modglin. Son in Law, Mark Wargel. Brother in Laws, Jack Mitchell, W.D. Frohock, Jerry Gulley, Donald Modglin, and Jim Modglin.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 29, 2019 at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home Chapel with Ray Wallace officiating; Burial will follow in the Colbert Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday April 28, 2019 at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home.
