Obituary for Kimberly Ann McSparin
Kimberly Ann McSparin (nee Osman), 65, passed away peacefully at home in Harrisburg, Illinois, surrounded by her husband and children, on Sunday, December 20, 2020. It was with great faith that she gracefully left her body after a long illness with heart disease.
Kimberly was born on January 7, 1955, in Eldorado, Illinois, and married Paul Graydon McSparin on June 29, 1973. Paul and Kim enjoyed over 47 years of marriage and it is with great sorrow that we announce her passing.
A fun loving, creative woman, Kimberly was a homemaker, raising up her children with Paul in beautiful Southern Illinois. She was an avid bookworm who loved travel (especially to the ocean), collecting antiques, flower gardening, painting, dance, the telling of stories, live music, watching movies, playing cards & games, and laughing, with her family and friends. After the birth of their grandson, Paul and Kim moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, to be close with him, as well as their other Florida family. They had just returned to Southern Illinois in the last several years.
She is survived by her adoring husband, Paul (Tweety); son, Paul J. (PJ) McSparin of Harrisburg, Illinois; daughter, Jennifer Ann McSparin and her son, their only grandchild, Christopher Graydon Jerrell, who reside in Makanda, Illinois.
Kim will be greatly missed by many, including her sisters, Tammi L. Goforth and Lisa Hudson Trimble (Gordon) of Okeechobee, Florida; her brother, Jackie E. Osman (Vicki) of Wyoming; sister-in-law Patricia K. (Patty) Peterson, of Harrisburg, and brother-in-law Kenneth J. (Butch) McSparin, also of Harrisburg. She was blessed with several nieces and nephews: Suzy & Jeff, Jessi, & Alex Miller (Miami, FL); Amy E. Peterson & Celia J. Roark (Harrisburg, IL); Christa Garcia & Mason Holland (California); Emily Osman Randolph (Illinois); Meghan Osman (Colorado);Jacob Osman (Colorado); Joshua E. & Rylan Goforth (Florida). Also, her dog,
Emma Lucy, and several cats.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Phyllis Ann (Freeman & Lena Kincaid, Fayetta Kincaid) & John Harrison; her father, Jack Osman (Loren & Verbal Brown Osman); her parents-in-law, Paul K. & Anna Faye McSparin; four brothers-in-law: Gregory K. McSparin, Barry Hudson, Jr., Emil G. Peterson, and Grady Goforth; as well as a nephew, Tyler Scot Van Balveren.
All and all, Kimberly had a blessed and rich life where she was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. A resilient woman, she is now resting from this life and in the loving company of the omnipotent heavenly guardians, and all our ancestors.
There will be a celebration of her life today, tomorrow and always.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic there will be no public services. All arrangements were through the thoughtful J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home, Harrisburg, Illinois.
