Obituary for Kathleen Wasson
Kathleen Wasson, age 96, of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2023 in Carrier Mills, Illinois. She was born on March 1, 1927 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Charles and Etta Williams Adams.
Kathleen was a proud graduate of Harrisburg High School’s Class of 1945. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed the work she did as a switchboard operator for the A.L. Bowen Center. Raising her children and grandchildren brought her joy, laughter and many treasured memories. Kathleen married Arrell Wasson Jr. on January 21, 1946 cherishing 55 years together and he preceded her in death on January 18, 2002.
Surviving are her sons, Michael and wife Becky Wasson of Bryant, Arkansas and Curt and wife Gretchen Wasson of Carbondale, Illinois. Daughter, Kim and husband Richard Williams of Harrisburg, Illinois. Seven grandchildren, Kelly Snapp, Kurt Wasson, Kristi Johnson, Burke Wasson, Grant Wasson, Mac Leberman and Mackenzie Miller.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents and husband, Arrell Wasson. Brothers, Cletus Adams and Bill Don Adams. Grandchildren, Ashleigh Miller and Kenton Wasson.
Graveside services will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisburg, Illinois.
