Julie Anne Hilliard passed away May 31 2024, at home after an extended illness. She was born May 12, 1956 the daughter of Harry and Phyllis (Mitchell) Jones. She is survived by her husband, David; daughter Nelle (Joe) Minich; Son Jim; granddaughters Macie and Sadie Minich; brothers Jeff (Melinda) and Jim (Laura) Jones; brother-in-law Dick (Margaret) Hilliard and sister-in-law Pauline (J.D., deceased).
She was the owner of Peony Hill Farm. An accomplished swimmer, she started working as a “basket girl” at the park pool at age 12. Eventually working her way up to pool manager. She loved working at the pool and was delighted when one of her “pool rats” would stop to say hello.
Her great passion was her family; she was their most forthright critic and enthusiastic cheerleader, no matter the sport or endeavor. She was a gifted artist and avid sports fan. She was also an energetic traveler. A member of the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church, she always made sure that the sanctuary was decorated for the appropriate season.
There will be no visitation and a private family service will be held in the chapel where she was married.
Those wishing to donate in her honor, the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg or the Harrisburg Bulldog Athletic Fund are suggested.
Arrangements in care of the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Illinois.
