Jeffrey Glen Nutt, aged 63, of Eldorado, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025. Born on July 16, 1962, in Madisonville, Kentucky, to James Maurice and Juanita Nutt, Jeffrey grew up with a passion for life that was infectious to all who knew him. He was a beloved son, partner, uncle, and friend who left a lasting impact on the hearts of many.
Jeffrey spent most of his professional life at Morello's in Harrisburg, where his warm personality and dedication made him a well-known and respected figure. His work was not just a job but a community where he formed lasting friendships and associations. His colleagues remember him as someone who brought joy and enthusiasm to every interaction, making the workplace a brighter and more welcoming space.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Jeffrey was a man of diverse interests and a zest for life. He had an adventurous palate and loved trying new foods, always eager to experience the next culinary delight. His love for roller coasters was a testament to his adventurous spirit, and he could often be found seeking the thrill of the ride, his laughter echoing through the air.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Jeffrey found solace and joy in nature. His appreciation for the beauty of the natural world was evident to all who accompanied him on his many outdoor excursions. His love for animals was profound, particularly exotic ones, and he had a unique ability to connect with all creatures great and small.
Jeffrey's capacity to make people smile was one of his most remarkable traits. He had a natural talent for lightening the mood and bringing happiness to those around him. His sense of humor, combined with his kind-heartedness, made him a cherished presence in the lives of his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving partner, Rick Johnson; his nephew, Jody (Natasha) Nutt; nieces, Abi Rettinghaus and Angie Messmer; nephew, Caleb Johnson; sister-in-law, Angie (Eric) Rettinghaus; brother-in-law, Danny Johnson; and his extended Morello's family, Katie Rose, Mike Sumner, and David Dennison. Jeffrey also held a special place in his heart for Barbara & Kenneth Johnson, who were like parents to him. He was preceded in death by his father, James Maurice Nutt; mother, Juanita Nutt; and brothers, Paul and Jimmy Nutt.
Jeffrey's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the importance of cherishing every moment. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to live life to the fullest, embrace new experiences, and above all, to spread joy wherever they go. Jeffrey Glen Nutt will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever remain.
A celebration of life will be held at Morello’s at a later date. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
