J. C. Wise 69 of Harrisburg passed away 2:30 AM Friday May 1, 2026 at Saline Care Center in Harrisburg. He was born March 24, 1957 in Harrisburg to Jack and Norma Clark Wise. He was married to Cindy Booten Wise and she survives. J. C. and Cindy both graduated from the University of Illinois in Champagne with a degree in Ag. He was most proud of his associates degree in computer science from Southeastern Illinois College. J. C. worked 22 years for the Egyptian Health Dept as an I.T. but also refinished furniture and had a boarding kennel.
J. C. is survived by his wife Cindy, 2 brothers Terry Wise of Harrisburg and Gene (Stephanie) of New Albany, IN. 1 Sister In Law Linda Wise of Harrisburg and 8 nieces and nephews; Matt & Mollie Wise of Pineville, LA, Amanda (Bill) Jones of Ridgway, Jake (Hanna) Wise of Harrisburg, Tabi Wilson of Harrisburg, Bryan (Sheri) Wilson of Paducah, KY, Dylan Wise of Sioux City, SD, Tina Worth and David Worth both of St. Augustine, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Norma Wise and a brother Tim Wise.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday May 9, 2026 at Harrisburg First United Methodist Church with Pastor Lynette Barnett officiating. Friends may call after 10:00 AM Saturday at the Church.
