Obituary for Helen E. Hankins
Helen E. Hankins 89 of Harrisburg passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Herrin Hospital. She was born June 6, 1928 in Harrisburg to Charles and Alta Vaughn Reynolds. She was married to Oval Lee Hankins and he preceded her in death November 3, 1996. She was a faithful member of Sloan St. General Baptist Church in Harrisburg.

Surviving Helen are 2 sons, David Hankins and Bocky & Debbie Hankins all of Galatia, 2 nieces who were raised in the family home; Becky Brums of Pana and Bonnie Sprague of Herrin, 1 daughter in law, Peggy Hankins and 1 son in law Laren Killman, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oval Lee Hankins, 1 son Paul Hankins, 1 daughter Syble Killman and 8 brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will preceed burial 11:00 AM Wednseday, September 27, 2017 at Sunset Lawn Cemetery with Rev. Derek Downs officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 10:40 AM at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
