Obituary for Gerald "Jerry" Crabb
Gerald Lee “Jerry” Crabb 78 of Harrisburg passed away 8:45 AM Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born on June 24, 1938 in Maud, Oklahoma to Odus and Juanita Collins Crabb. Jerry married Carol Ann Crawford on December 8th, 1955 in Vandalia, Illinois.
He was a longtime owner and partner of Crabb & Crawford Accountants of Eldorado, IL. He was a member of the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher, a former youth leader and served on many committees. Jerry enjoyed playing golf, traveling, watching his grandkids and great grandkids play sports and spending time with his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol, daughters Mary (Mike) Reed of Harrisburg, Martha (Rocky) James of Eldorado and LeAnn (Doug) Miller of Junction and son John (Amanda) Crabb of Harrisburg. 9 grandchildren, Julie (Davy) Martin, Lucas (Laurin) Reed, Daniel Reed, Laura (Eric) Westbrook, Isabel Crabb, Isaac Crabb, Ian Crabb, Scott (Lisa) Reed and Nikki (Graham) Andrews. 5 great grandchildren, Jack and Sam Martin, Kendall Reed, Ethan and Carter Reed. He is also survived by a sister Kathy (Gary) Smith of Harrisburg, a brother in law Jack Daugherty, 3 sisters in law Cindy Crawford, Nellie Koons and Jean Crawford along with several nieces, nephews, best friends and special neighbors.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, sister Bobbie Daugherty, brother in law and business partner Carl Crawford, brothers in law Bob Koons and Dean Crawford.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday January 23, 2017 at the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church with Pastor Christine Cunningham officiating and burial in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 PM Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church. For those who wish memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the First United Methodist Church where envelopes will be available. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.
