Obituary for Fred Duggins
George “Fred” Frederick Duggins, age 84, of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Illinois. He was born on April 19, 1935 in New Albany, Indiana to Walter Howard and Mary Staser Duggins. Fred married Janice Ann Duggins of Harrisburg, Illinois. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, Illinois where he taught the Open Heart Class Sunday School. Fred was also a member of the Harrisburg Masonic Lodge #325 AF&AM and a member of the Ainad Temple of The Shrine. For many years, he was the proud owner and operator of Harrisburg Supply and Fireplace Shop in Harrisburg, Illinois.
Surviving are his wife, Jan Duggins. Sons, Michael Ray Duggins of Galatia, Illinois, Mark and wife Cammy Duggins of Golconda, Illinois and Todd Frederick Duggins of Marion, Illinois. Sisters, Connie Jourdan and husband Dave of Evansville, Indiana and Barbara Kelle and husband Jerry of Evansville, Indiana. 6 grandchildren, Amanda Winters and husband Jay of Trenton, Illinois, Max and wife Natacha Duggins of Charolette, North Carolina, Aaron and wife Audra Ratliff of Eldorado, Illinois, Kaitlyn Duggins of Orlando, Florida, Sam Duggins of LongBeach, Mississippi, Brandon Duggins of Marion, Illinois and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, Illinois with Rev. Alan Rhein officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois. Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, January 20, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg, Illinois. Arrangement in care of the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Illinois. Donation may be made to the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church in Fred's honor.
