Ed was a real estate broker at Ozment Real Estate for many years and later worked at the First National Bank. Some may remember The Men’s Palace Clothing House, a store he owned with his father for a number of years. Ed proudly served in the Air Force where he was awarded the China Service Medal (Extended) for his participation in the evacuation of the Tachen Islands during February of 1955.
Surviving are his daughters, Kelly (Kevin) Kirkbride of Collinsville, Illinois and Libby Arredondo of Harrisburg, Illinois; granddaughter, Eve (Alex) Sterling of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Ed’s namesake, grandson Anderson Criswell Sterling. Also left behind are his caregivers, Debbie Scott and LaDea Sanders, and several friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Arrangements have been made by J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home.
