Obituary for Dorothy J. Williams
Dorothy Jean Williams, age 92, of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Parkway Manor in Marion, Illinois. She was born on June 11, 1930 in Equality, Illinois to Carroll and Myralee Frohock.
She is survived by her sons, Bob Williams and Billy Williams both of Harrisburg, Illinois; her daughter, Brenda (Bob) Ziegler of Belleville, Illinois, her sisters Kay Whittley of St, Louis, Missouri, Wanda (Harry) Claywell of St. Louis, Missouri; her brothers Don (Nayna) Frohock of Phoenix, Arizona, Ron (Eunice) Frohock of Stevensville, Michigan; and sister-in-law Pat Frohock.
She is also survived by six grandchildren, Brian (Karley) Ziegler, Brad (Rachel) Ziegler, Brooke (Josh) Sterns, Christy (Ryan) Herlyn, Molly Wilson and Ryan Williams; fifteen great-grandchildren, Braden (Autumn) Ziegler, Boston Ziegler, Hope Ziegler, Vaughn Ziegler, Max Ziegler, Addi Ziegler, Emma Sterns, Paige Sterns, Kaylee Payne, Kayden Herlyn, Jack Dearing, Ella Dearing, Caroline Dearing, Claire Kaisar, Henry Kaisar and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by both parents; daughter, Sharon Wilson; sister, Margaret McLain; brothers, John Frohock and Sonny Frohock; brothers-in-law, Bill Whittley, and Fred McLain; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Frohock.
Affectionately called “Mama” by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Dorothy worked hard for over 50 years—including at Schnierle’s Resturant, Rainbow Drug Store and Medicap Phasrmacy—to provide for her four children. Dorothy’s lasting legacy to her family is her strength, independence, and unconditional love. While she may no longer be physically present, Dorothy’s spirit and impact will live on in her large, loving family.
Graveside services will be 11:30 A.M. Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Elmwood Cemetery in Equality, Illinois. All that may wish to attend services should meet at Elmwood Cemetery. Following services, a celebration of life will be held at the Elks Lodge in Harrisburg, Illinois. Arrangements in care of the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg, Illinois.
