Brantly Russell Biggs, known affectionately as Brantly to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, in Harrisburg, Illinois, at the age of 48. Born on July 26, 1976, in Evansville, Indiana, Brantly was a man of deep faith, integrity, and a warm sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him.
Brantly spent his childhood in the nurturing arms of his beloved Harrisburg community, where he attended local Harrisburg schools. His thirst for knowledge and personal growth led him to Southeastern Illinois College, where he furthered his education and laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
As an ordained non-denominational minister, Brantly dedicated his life to serving others, offering guidance, comfort, and spiritual support to countless individuals. His compassionate nature and unwavering dedication to his faith were evident in every aspect of his ministry. Alongside his spiritual work, Brantly pursued a successful career as a real estate agent in Hilton Head, South Carolina. His charismatic personality and honest approach to business earned him the trust and respect of clients and colleagues alike.
Brantly's interests were as diverse as his talents. His most recent passion was becoming an instructor for conceal carry guns, a role in which he excelled by combining his commitment to personal safety with his ability to teach and empower others. His enthusiasm for this new venture was a testament to his lifelong love of learning and his desire to make a positive impact on the world.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Eugenia Biggs, who provided him with unwavering support and love throughout his life. Brantly's father, Darrell "Butch" Biggs, preceded him in death, leaving a legacy of strength and resilience that Brantly carried with him always.
Brantly was a beacon of light to all who knew him, and his departure leaves a void that cannot be filled. His laughter, wisdom, and generosity of spirit will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all the lives he touched. Brantly lived a life of purpose, guided by his deep faith and the belief that every person he met was a friend waiting to be discovered.
As we say goodbye to Brantly, we celebrate the remarkable life he led and the countless ways in which he enriched our world. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his influence will be felt for generations to come. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday January 28, 2025 at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Brad Vinyard officiating and burial to follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 AM Tuesday January 28, 2025 at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home. There will be a meal catered at the Harrisburg Park office on West Poplar St immediately following the cemetery service.
