Obituary for Benny Gale Lane
Benny Lane 84 of Alton, Illinois and formerly of Harrisburg passed away July 25, 2025 in The Boulevards Care Center, St. Peter, MO. He was born November 28, 1940 in Harrisburg to George and Lillian Jarrells Lane. Benny was a graduate of Murray State University and taught school in the Alton area and later went into Sales Management. He was married to Joan Wamser Lane who preceded him in death. Benny was a member of the Ingram Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by a niece, Della Anderson and nephews, Greg Kohl, Robert Kohl, Russell Kohl and Jeff Watkins. He is also survived by 1 stepson, Tim Power and 2 stepdaughters, Colleen Bonacci and Michele Onians. Benny was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan, 2 brothers, Cloyde Lane and Glendall "Gin" Lane and 2 sisters, Delda Rae Watkins and Retha Kohl. Also he was preceded by 2 nieces, Linda Ghent, Terri Lynn Lane and Sandy Hunt and 1 nephew Keith Lane.
Funeral services for Benny Lane will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 9, 2025 at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pierson Cemetery. Friends may call after 9:00 AM at the funeral home.
