Barbara N. Neighbors, age 82, of Harrisburg, Illinois passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, Illinois. She was born on November 26, 1937 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Virgil and Alma Marie Owens Poole. Barbara worked as a cook at the Harrisburg Unit Schools for many years. She was married to John Neighbors and he precedes her in death.
Surviving are her son, Johnny Neighbors Jr. of Harrisburg, Illinois. Daughters, Patty and husband Bill Pickering of Harrisburg, Illinois, Susie Bishop and Fred Engleby of Carrier Mills, Illinois, Terri and Husband James Ditterline of Carrier Mills, Illinois and Misty Richey of Harrisburg, Illinois. Sister, Rosalee Pritchard of Jeffersonville, Indiana. 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and a special friend Orval Stockich.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents. Husband, John Neighbors. Brothers, Gary Poole and Glendall Poole and sister, Bonita Mayhall.
Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Sunset Garden Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Arrangements in care of the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home.
