Barbara Ellen Baldwin, affectionately known as Barbara by her friends and family, passed away on December 15, 2024, in Carrier Mills, Illinois. She was born on March 24, 1943, in the Mitchellville Community and was the cherished daughter of the late Clifford Hunt and Myrtle Mann Hunt. A beacon of warmth and love, Barbara's presence was a constant source of joy to all who knew her.
Barbara's journey through life was shared with her devoted husband, Eugene Baldwin, and together they nurtured a family that became her pride and joy. Her legacy is carried on by her loving sons, Arnold & wife Sharon and Terry Baldwin, and her adored daughter, Janet Dunning and husband W.E.. Barbara's siblings, Wayne, George, and Jimmy Hunt, share in the family's cherished memories, along with the late Bill, Dennis, Clifford (Buster) Hunt, and Lela Hunt, who have predeceased her.
For 25 industrious years, Barbara dedicated her time and talents to the Nationwide Glove factory, where her work ethic and camaraderie with colleagues were greatly appreciated. Beyond her professional life, Barbara's passions were manifold. She possessed an innate love for cooking, a skill she utilized not only to delight her family with delicious meals but also to express her love and care for them. Her grandkids, Michael Baldwin, Kimberly Atkinson, Blake Baldwin, Jonathan and Justin Dunning held a particularly special place in her heart. She cherished every moment spent with them, and her guidance and affection helped shape their lives.
Barbara's love extended to the beauty of nature. She found solace and joy in planting and nurturing her flowers, creating an oasis of tranquility and color that reflected the vibrancy of her spirit. Her garden was a testament to her patience and dedication, characteristics that she exemplified throughout her life. Shopping was yet another of Barbara's pleasures. She relished the opportunity to explore and find the perfect items not only for herself but also for her loved ones, always thinking of others even during her leisure activities.
Her zest for life and commitment to her family will live on through her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Kooper and Elizabeth Baldwin; Ashlynn and Gage Atkinson. Barbara was the matriarch of a family that flourished through her guidance, and her influence will continue to be felt through the generations.
Barbara's life was one of unwavering love, boundless generosity, and kind-heartedness that touched everyone around her. Her home was a haven of warmth, her kitchen a place of gathering, and her garden a symbol of her nurturing soul. Her absence will be deeply felt, but the memory of her life will be celebrated and held dear in the hearts of those who knew her.
As the Baldwin family mourns the loss of their beloved Barbara, they are comforted by the knowledge that her life was lived to the fullest and that her spirit will forever be a guiding light in their lives. Barbara's journey may have come to a peaceful end, but the love she gave and the lives she touched will continue to resonate for many years to come.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 AM at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
