Obituary for Ann Durham
Ann Marie Mueller Durham died peacefully at her home on May 8, 2024 following a brief illness. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin January 10, 1933 to John F and Mabel (Viksjo) Mueller and graduated from Shorewood High School. She went on to Columbia Hospital School of Nursing and graduated with honors. While in nursing school, she met William R. Durham during a clinical rotation in Chicago. The two married June 26, 1954 and made their home in Harrisburg, Illinois following his service in the Army.
Ann loved traveling, reading, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and playing the handbells.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Durham, MD and her parents.
Ann is survived by her children Jennifer (Greg) Risinger and William F. Durham; grandchildren Rachael Elisabeth, Madeleine Rose and Mitchell Durham Risinger; sister Nancy E. Mueller; nieces Julie (Kevin) Moran and Sara (Tom) Lillis; nephews Greg (Susie) Hodson and Robert L. Hodson; cousins Tom (Linda) Viksjo, Mary Kay (Alex) Koenen and Joan Viksjo.
A funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Harrisburg on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. with a one hour visitation prior. In addition, friends may call at Weirauch Funeral home on Sunday, May 12, 2024 from 5-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to breast cancer research or St Jude Children’s hospital, two of her favorite charities.
